Holt store to temporarily adjust opening hours

If you’ve visited us recently, you’ll have noticed that we have experienced an unprecedented demand for groceries since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. With immediate effect, we are going to close the store at the slightly earlier time of 6pm until further notice. This will give our team the opportunity to work late into the evening, ensuring the store is in great shape when we open our doors at 8am ready for the day ahead. We have taken other steps to keep our staff and our customers safe and to ensure that customers can pick up what they need wherever possible. Social distancing is being adhered to and you will notice measures such as screens and tape on the ground at our till points to ensure everyone is able to keep a safe distance from each other. Restrictions are in place on certain products across the store, you’ll see notices indicating where this applies. For those of you who are unable to get to our store (we also have a store in Aylsham), don’t forget that we offer a delivery service. Details can be found here at our website. Lastly, we’d like to thank you for your continued support during this extraordinary time. Look after yourselves and your families, never has there been a more important time to be there for each other, perhaps not physically in many cases, but in any way we can. Sandra Taylor-Meeds Store Manager, CT Baker Budgens of...

C T Baker Group Reveals its Local Food Supplier of the Year 2019

On Thursday 9th May, C T Baker Group proudly welcomed a host of the Norfolk region’s finest producers to its annual local supplier awards. Held at the Feathers Hotel, Holt, the 2019 C T Baker local supplier awards marks the 8th year of the C T Baker local supplier event — a celebration of the many local producers to be found at the C T Baker Budgens stores and Bakers & Larners Food Hall. In recent years, the award’s winners have included Sharrington Strawberries, Martin’s Farm, Cornerways Nursery, Broadland Hams, H V Graves butchers and last year’s winner, Havensfield Eggs. This year, C T Baker Group has revealed its local supplier of the year as Mrs Temple Cheese. The evening’s two runners up were D & F McCarthy and Black Shuck Ltd. Guests at the event were treated to a three course menu incorporating produce from the many local suppliers in attendance. On the evening, a raffle was held in aid of C T Baker Budgens of Aylsham and Holt’s 2019 charities of the year — Walnut Tree Health & Wellbeing and Macmillan Cancer Support North Norfolk. C T Baker Group’s close relationship with its local suppliers dates back to 1982 whereby a range of products from Pointen’s Dairy, Melton Constable, were introduced at the Bakers & Larners Food Hall. At that time, Pointen’s Dairy was one of the earliest Norfolk dairy farms to pursue the diversification of their produce, and many other firms would soon follow suit to find their place in the...

Budgens Holt – Charity Cheque Presentation

On Thursday 22nd February, C T Baker Budgens of Holt was proud to welcome Admiral Nurses North Norfolk to its 2017 ‘charity of the year’ cheque presentation. Over a period of 12 months, the Budgens store raised a grand total of £8,253.53 for the charity through initiatives including in-store tombolas, raffles and at town-wide events such as the Holt 1940s Weekend and Holt Christmas lights switch-on. The cheque was presented to Zena Aldridge (Senior Consultant Admiral Nurse) by Michael Baker (C T Baker Group Managing Director), Beverley Thirtle (Customer Service Manager) and Sandra Taylor-Meeds (Budgens of Holt Manager). “This money is to go towards £25,000 that was pledged by a group of fundraisers in and around Holt — a total that was supposed to have been raised over a period of two years and has already been raised within a year,” said Ms Aldridge. “We had a meeting with Mr Baker last year where he said he would pledge £5,000. He has clearly exceeded that. It’s brilliant.” Admiral Nurses North Norfolk provide specialist dementia support, expert guidance and practical support for families affected by dementia. The money raised by Budgens of Holt is to part-fund an Admiral nurse posted at Holt practice, enabling the organisation to continue to bring Admiral nurses into North...
