On Thursday 22nd February, C T Baker Budgens of Holt was proud to welcome Admiral Nurses North Norfolk to its 2017 ‘charity of the year’ cheque presentation.
Over a period of 12 months, the Budgens store raised a grand total of £8,253.53 for the charity through initiatives including in-store tombolas, raffles and at town-wide events such as the Holt 1940s Weekend and Holt Christmas lights switch-on.
The cheque was presented to Zena Aldridge (Senior Consultant Admiral Nurse) by Michael Baker (C T Baker Group Managing Director), Beverley Thirtle (Customer Service Manager) and Sandra Taylor-Meeds (Budgens of Holt Manager). “This money is to go towards £25,000 that was pledged by a group of fundraisers in and around Holt — a total that was supposed to have been raised over a period of two years and has already been raised within a year,” said Ms Aldridge. “We had a meeting with Mr Baker last year where he said he would pledge £5,000. He has clearly exceeded that. It’s brilliant.”
Admiral Nurses North Norfolk provide specialist dementia support, expert guidance and practical support for families affected by dementia. The money raised by Budgens of Holt is to part-fund an Admiral nurse posted at Holt practice, enabling the organisation to continue to bring Admiral nurses into North Norfolk.
